Job Overview
The EC Consultant will serve as a strategic partner to Chinese merchants, supporting them in achieving sales growth through data-driven consulting, store development, and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Store Development
- Analyze merchant challenges and assess metrics including page traffic, conversion, and average order value
- Propose customized solutions such as advertising plans, seasonal campaigns, and promotional strategies
Seminar Planning & Facilitation
- Plan and host merchant seminars based on business needs
- Evaluate seminar outcomes and recommend improvements to enhance merchant success
Internal Collaboration
- Lead or support internal improvement and strategic projects
- Prepare documentation, reports, and materials for internal meetings
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to gather information and plan merchant-facing events
Sales Style
- Daily merchant communication via email and phone
- In-person meetings for strategic discussions, budget planning, and proposal presentations
- Engage with key decision-makers, executives, and store managers
Requirements
Must-Have
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- 3+ years of professional experience
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing business environments
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, especially for international clients
- Business-level proficiency in:
- Japanese
- Chinese (able to conduct business meetings)
- English
Nice-to-Have
- Experience in proposal-based, solution-based, or consulting-oriented sales
- Background in cross-border e-commerce strategy or merchant sales
English Requirement
- TOEIC score of 800+ or equivalent English proficiency
- Proof required by offer stage; if unavailable, a TOEIC IP test may be administered
