Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities –
Provide accurate, meaning-for-meaning consecutive interpretation over the phone.
Interpret in various sectors including medical, insurance, finance, emergency line, etc.
Manage tone, pace, and professionalism during live calls
Follow all interpreter protocols, company policies, confidentiality rules, and industry ethics.
Maintain neutrality at all times and avoid personal opinions or additions.
Build and maintain strong terminology knowledge relevant to OPI use cases.
Attend required training, QA reviews, and coaching sessions.
Demonstrate reliable attendance, accurate adherence to shift schedules, and timely completion of tasks.
Follow feedback and improve based on coaching or quality evaluations.
Work independently while maintaining professional communication with supervisors and teammates.
Handle urgent, stressful, or sensitive calls (e.g., medical, emergency, legal) with composure.
Ensure strict compliance with privacy and data protection standards.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Fluency in Mandarin/Cantonese and English (B2+/C1).
Excellent listening skills and ability to interpret accurately.
Strong understanding of cultural nuances and linguistic differences.
Ability to adapt to multiple call types and rapidly changing scenarios.
Calm, professional demeanor during emotionally intense or emergency calls.
High accuracy, attention to detail, and consistency in interpretation.

Job Summary / Overview
This position provides accurate, real-time Over-the-Phone consecutive interpretation in a first-person style. The interpreter facilitates communication between English speakers and Mandarin/Cantonese speakers across various industries.
Language Proficiency (Read / Write / Speak)
Mandarin / Cantonese: strong speaking, reading, and comprehension
English: minimum B2+ /C1 level (advanced fluency required)
Working Hours
5 days per week (Saturday & Sunday off)
Primary shift: Night Shift
May be required to support 24/7 rotational shifts depending on team/business needs
